Panorama

The panorama was definitely a challenge. Blending nine photos not only into each other, but to fill the entire canvas. My theme was Golden Hour, or sunrise. Every morning since I started attending high school, I ride my bus while the world wakes up. It varies depending on the time of year, but there is a good portion of time where I get to witness the sunrise for almost my entire bus ride.

The Experience

At first, it was strange and foreign to me. I had always lived right next to my schools so getting up at six in the morning was a new experience. Then (especially in winter) it would still be very dark when I left the house for my stop. In early fall/late spring, the sky starts to brighten at this time. For majority of the year, the sun rises at some point along my 45-minute ride. Sometimes, it stays dark for a long time and everything feels quiet and calm.

The particular day I took the images, I was blessed with the fact that the sunrise lasted the entire ride. The first few minutes were dark. Then light began to peak out and spill across the horizons in oranges and then yellows. A good ways into it, the sun was clearly visible and spreading light across the sky until, at the end of my ride, everything was bright and awake. I was amazed as I dodged back and forth between seats, trying my best to take decent pictures.

Reflection

Regrettably, I did not have a quality camera, and many of the pictures came out grainy. Despite this, I still got a few good ones that I tried to highlight when making the panorama. If I got to try again, I would opt for something with better quality, and I would already know how to get good angles. When actually photoshopping the pictures, I barely had enough to fill every part of the canvas, and this caused a couple problems. I took my time and tried my best to fill in everything and make it flow a little easier. All in all, I think I did an alright job despite the setbacks. I hope you all take inspiration (or whatever you like) from the image or story.
