Video Reflection

In Video Production for the past few weeks, we have been hard at work finishing up our Sophomore Edition of ONW NOW (our schools weekly 10 minute news show). Even before that, we have done videos such as a feature story on a classmate, and then one on something of our choosing. Overall, while some things were a challenge, it was mostly enjoyable. I got to interview many interesting people, talk about cool stories, and work with fun people.
I learned a lot and I am starting to get more comfortable working with the equipment and interviewing people. Adobe Premiere Pro is getting easier to use and I'm learning all sorts of tips and tricks. I probably could have done better on some things, but that's all in the process of learning.

Improvements

I could probably improve in areas such as my editing, speed, and productivity. It's always the little things that trip me up in editing, tiny little mistakes here and there. I just need practice to get better, and to reflect on occasion to catch the mistakes and learn from them. On some days, I work slowly and get little done. I have trouble focusing or there's something in my way, there are many reasons. I just need to find the energy to jump the hurdles every day, despite how tired I may be from other classes. Half the time, I take a long time because I am unsure what I am doing, but I am getting that confidence back as I get more familiar with the process.

Strengths

I like to think I am alright at (and getting better at) writing questions and doing voiceovers. I have done the voiceovers for several group projects (usually because the other person is too shy) and I often write the questions too. I attack it from several angles until I feel fully satisfied. I also think I am good at choosing the questions that sound well and weaving them into a story during editing (though a few little bumps could use work). Still, I don't think I am that bad and I strive to be better.
