Logo Design

Our most recent project was on logo design. Logos are iconic parts of our everyday life, and they symbolize a company or a product. We were tasked with creating our own logo designs.
First, we drew everything out on paper, making as many ideas as we could. Ultimately, we took the best 3 or so, and took them to Illustrator. From there, we began expirementing.
My first design was a palm tree in a circle. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do at first, so I tried aquatic themes. I added extra circles and an island, as well as some negative space, and quite liked how it turned out.
My second design was a shooting star with letters in the stream. I tried both my first name, and my initials. I also used different thicknesses for the lines. As much as I like the concept, it didn't turn out as I had quite hoped.
My third design was my initials selecting over the water. I tried multiple methods for the fade, but nothing quite worked. I also tried putting a (blacked-out) sun over the water as well. It didn't work either.
I ended up choosing my first design and began to add color. I tried tranquil blue skies as well as a sunset. I also experimented with the thickness of the center circle as well as its color.
Lastly, I tried different sizes for an ocean in the back, as well as a cloud in the sky. I really liked them all, but ended up going with the top right one.

After deciding on a logo, we used mockups, to determine how the logo would look on things like cars, t-shirts, or signs. I tried variations with my name and without. Ultimately, I really like the way my logo turned out, and the whole process was really interesting and fun. I hope you like it too.
